Another 24 episodes from the ground-breaking hospital drama that was Britain's first twice-weekly soap opera. Set in the fictitious Oxbridge General Hospital, the show concentrated as much on the private lives of the staff as it did on their jobs, setting the template for today's modern medical soaps. It rapidly became a firm favourite with the public, attracting (for then) huge audiences over its ten-year run.
