Collection of programmes from the History channel examining the power and influence of ancient empires. From the Egyptian empire to the Greek city states to the imperial might of Rome, the evolution of human civilisation has been greatly moulded by the dominion of powerful empires. This collection places these great empires in their historical context and examines how they gained and preserved their power. Also featured in the collection are pieces on the Vikings, the Goths, the Mongols and the Huns.
