On Saturday, May 10th 1969, an England side, slick and firing on all cylinders, mauled the cream of Scottish football talent. Alan Ball's ceaseless chasing was a major factor in helping Martin Peters and World Cup hero Geoff Hurst to score a brace apiece. A groggy Scotland, with McCreadie and Bremner outstanding, could only reply through Stein, and England got sweet revenge for their 3-2 defeat in 1967.
