Synopsis:
Meet Andy Millman, Actor. Never forgets his lines because he never gets any. Andy (Ricky Gervais) is a desperate man. He's been an actor for five years but thanks to his useless agent (Stephen Merchant), he's never done any acting. Instead he's just a lowly film extra, walking around in the background while the stars do their lines. Andy's only friend in the world is Maggie (Ashley Jenson), a fellow extra and a hopeless romantic. While Maggie pursues the man of her dreams, Andy decides he'll do whatever it takes to get himself noticed.

These are great. If you liked The Office you'll love these, and the cameos from the stars are fabulous.

Improves with a second look. - Extras: Series 1 review by CP Customer

I wasn't that impressed with 'Extras' when it was first shown on BBC2, but with a second viewing on DVD it improves a lot. It relies a little too much on guest star cameo's with Gervais acting the straight guy to the mad characters that surround him, but this improves in series two and by the final 'Extras: Christmas special' it really becomes a funny and often quite touching show.
