Synopsis:
Gianandrea Noseda conducts the Teatro Regio Torino Orchestra and Chorus in this performance of Gounod's opera. Charles Castronovo plays the title character, an elderly scholar who despite his success remains dissatisfied and restless. When the demonic Méphistophélès (Ildar Abdrazakov) appears and lures Faust into signing a deal that will return him to his youthful state in exchange for his services in Hell using the tempting image of a young woman, Marguerite (Vasilij Ladjuk), Faust accepts. Now transformed into a handsome young man, Faust sets out to find the entrancing young woman with the treacherous Méphistophélès in tow.
