Documentary about German Nazi officer Friedrich Paulus. During his campaign to take Stalingrad from the Soviet Red Army, Paulus and his men were surrounded and faced with tough conditions. When Hitler heard of this crisis, he promoted Paulus to Field Marshal and implored him not to surrender and shame his country. But with many of his men wounded and beginning to starve, Paulus surrendered to the Russians on the 31st of January 1943 and soon afterwards became an open critic of the Nazi regime.
