- First of the Summer Wine is a British comedy series that aired on the BBC in the late 1980’s. Created as a prequel to the long running and popular series Last of the Summer Wine the show depicts the youth of the lead characters (whose old aged is portrayed in the original series) in the lead up to the Second World War.
