After the success of 'Franco's Settlers', their first film exploring the legacy of Franco's fascist dictatorship, Post and Palacios turn their attention to one of the darkest chapters in European history: the genocide allegedly planned and committed during the dictatorship. To this day no one has been prosecuted for the regime's systematic atrocities. In 2010, victims filed a complaint in Buenos Aires, known as "Querella Argentina". 24 international arrest warrants have been issued. 'Franco on Trial' locates the "Argentinian Complaint" in its historical and judicial context and raises the question: could this case lead to the last great trial regarding a fascist dictatorship of the 20th century? The Spanish Nuremberg?
