Faithfully derived from Mary Shelley's macabre gothic epic, comes the chilling tale of one man and his soulless desire to surpass the boundaries of mortal humankind. Starring Donald Sutherland, William Hurle and Luke Goss, the crew of a weather-beaten ship stranded in an icy Northern sea rescue a man close to death - Victor Frankenstein. Delirious with cold, Frankenstein recounts his own story of a young scientist possessed of a dark and obsessive thirst for knowledge who has challenged nature at its very core by creating a monster - stitched together of severed limbs and torsos stolen from the morgue. Exposed to a thundering bolt of electricity the creature is born, not merely physically, but also of a tortured human soul that craves acceptance. Rejected by his creator, the monstrous being disappears into the night, helpless, abhorred, and vulnerable, but still subject to the most base and dangerous of human emotions - revenge.
