Set during the German occupation of Paris in 1942, Free Men stars Tahar Rahim as Younes, a young Algerian rogue who is arrested for black marketeering. In police custody he is given an ultimatum - either face an indefinite time in prison or become a spy for Nazi intelligence at the local Mosque, which is suspected of sheltering Resistance fighters and Jewish fugitives. As Younes goes deep undercover at the Mosque, he is drawn into a dangerous and morally complex situation - and must confront a terrible dilemma between serving his own best interests or putting himself in mortal danger to save the lives of innocent people.
