Matinee idol Richard Greene stars in this spectacular musical romance based on the true-life story of London's first theatrical impresario, George Edwardes. The dashing entrepreneur buys a run-down music hall in the capital and fills it with musical comedies, much to the delight of his audiences. But after George marries a beautiful young chorus girl, played by Ann Todd, a vindictive theatre critic (Peter Graves) attempts to destroy his career.
