- After an accident on the train platform, recently deceased childhood friends Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) and Masaru Kato (Kenichi Matsuyama) find themselves transported to an empty apartment populated by other confused strangers and a mysterious black ball known only as "Gantz". This enigmatic spherical entity outfits the two teens with slick black super powered suits and advanced weaponry, before sending them on numerous game-like missions where they receive points for killing aliens. 100 points will allow them to leave this purgatory or send someone else back to life. However, if they fail, they will perish forever...
