Given the increase in racial tension in this country, this is not only a timely feature, but also an incredibly courageous one. Shot on digital video and set in a rundown Glasgow housing estate, its subject matter may seem a touch sensational. But the idea that extremist thugs could consider infecting asylum seekers with an anthrax virus is truly terrifying. Director Kenneth Glenaan wisely adopts a rigidly realist tone to keep a lid on the melodrama, although he's ably abetted by a restrained performance from Sherko Zen-Aloush, as the Kurdish exile whose daughter, Benae Hassan, is stricken by a mystery ailment.
