2005 is a year in token of birth for this unique Dutch rock band. After touring Europe at the end of 2004 while pregnant, vocalist Annekke van Giersbergen gave birth to her first child in March 2005. On May 23 an extremely international audience witnessed the recording for this video at the famous live club Paradiso in Amsterdam. They were treated to a sublime live concert accompanied by an outstanding 3D video animation show conceived exclusively for this project by promising Dutch and Polish 3D artists Michel de Klein and Marcin Pazera. The Gathering played a fine selection of their more fragile songs. A Sound Relief features 2 DVD's with great bonus material. The band continue to work with producer Attie Bauw (How to Measure a Planet?) on their 8th studio album to be released early next year. By then the band will hit the road again to promote the album and record a second live DVD entitled a Noise Severe featuring their more heavy rock songs.
