- Gentleman Jack is a British historical drama TV series created by Sally Wainwright (Last Tango in Halifax). The story takes place in 1830s Yorkshire and follows the aspirations of Miss Anne Lister to take over her uncle's estate. Dealing with the ownership of the land and a coal mine leads to her being caught up in battles of business, romance, and secrets of the past. The series stars Suranne Jones and Sophie Rundle.
