This program illustrates what water can do below the earth's surface, over long periods of time. Using animated and real life sequences, this program explores some important caves, their formations and teaches students how underground water dissolves limestone to form caves, caverns, stalagmites, stalagtites and boxfork formations. Dr. Laurence J. Jankowski is an Associate Professor Emeritus at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He has been a member of The National Science Teachers Association, The National Association of Geology Teachers and the Ohio Academy of Science who gave him the Science Teacher of the Year Award. He is also the recipient of several National Science Foundation education grants.
