Erm Okay....
- Gigantic review by DB
Right this film is somewhat strange. It's offbeat and weird but I liked it. However I like offbeat movies as well as mainstream and so it worked for me.
The plot line is somewhat bizarre but that doesn't make it less believable. I would recommend it.

Quirky Indie Experience
- Gigantic review by CP Customer
Trying to make sense of Gigantic and the messed up characters within is a pointless task. You just have to hold on tight and see where the script takes you. While it doesn’t offer many answers, or a sense of closure, it’s a charming experience full of imaginative characters. The links between these individuals at times is very suspect and their situations frankly bizarre. What prevents the film from totally unravelling is the presence of John Goodman and the chemistry between Dano and Deschanel.

Crikey!

If you were to toddle off to Marks & Spencer and buy a bumper pack of briefs each week for a year you still wouldn't have as big a pile of pants as this dire film.
I was encouraged by the cast - including John Goodman and Ed Asner but the lack of any storyline and purpose is a major flaw in any narrative. Avoid

Quirky, messy and dull.

I was quite surprised that I didn’t like this film, Paul Dano is a great young actor, Zooey Deschanel is pretty hard not to like and I enjoy indie films. But ‘Gigantic’ is a film which in reality has absolutely nothing going for it, the acting was ok, the direction was ok, and the script was just plain awful. I usually like ‘slice of life’ type of films where you as the viewer dip in and out of a characters life over the course of a few days or weeks, but for those type of films to work you have to have some form of connection or interest in the characters onscreen and where ‘Gigantic’ fails is that both lead characters are so dull and uninteresting that fairly soon into the film you really don’t care what happens next.
