Gigot is a poignant comedy about a mute who befriends Nicole, the little daughter of a prostitute. Jackie Gleason shows his considerable talents as an actor without uttering a sound as he plays the bumbling, kind-hearted janitor, Gigot. Though the more upstanding members of the Parisian community may shun him, the lovable oaf named Gigot is a favorite among the neighborhood children. Gigot finds a sense of purpose when a young girl, the child of a cold-hearted woman of the night, seeks refuge with him. Gleason wrote the original story and music for this film.
