Despite protesting her innocence, 21-year-old Anne Carson (Joan Taylor) is convicted as an accomplice to a bank robbery and finds herself in prison with 3 equally glamorous cellmates in form-fitting uniforms: tough Jenny (Adele Jergens), unbalanced Dorothy (Phyllis Coates), and deceptive, sweet-talking Melanee (Helen Gilbert). The prison chaplain (Richard Denning) takes an interest in her case and believes her story. However, Anne's cellmates think differently. Convinced that she is guilty, they stage a breakout and force the girl to join them. As Anne meets the darker side of prison life, she learns that her greatest danger is the existence, somewhere out there, of the stolen bank loot everyone thinks she has hidden.
