Adolphe Adam's Giselle is the first of the great classical ballets. Its fantastical theme centers on 'Les Wilis' - girls who die before their intended marriages - and there is certainly no shortage of melodrama in the richly tuneful score. Paul Connelly conducts this marvelous production, choreographed by Patrice Bart, in the breathtaking setting of Milan's La Scala.
