Collection of television appearances from the Canadian musician, one of the most celebrated pianists of the 20th century. Gould was known, in particular, for his interpretations of the work of Johann Sebastian Bach. An eccentric figure, Gould shunned the work of other composers including Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin, and the bulk of his recordings are of Bach pieces, though he did display appreciation for Beethoven, Mozart and other figures. Another eccentricity displayed by Gould was his decision to stop giving concerts in the mid-1960s, adding importance and stature to his TV appearances - the only chance many would now have to see him perform.
