- Situated on the East Coast of the United States, New England spans six states: Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Suffused with colonial history it boasts a mixture of old-world charm, new-world sophistication, and the most spectacular autumn foliage in the world. Traveller Megan McCormick begins her journey in Plymouth, site of America's first pilgrim community. After sampling a slice of vibrant culture in Boston she heads north to experience the Fall in Vermont. Continuing to the pristine natural coastline of Cape Cod, she ends her journey among the illustrious 'summer cottages' of Newport, Rhode Island.
