This programme features diesels of classes 08, 25, 33, 37, 42, 46, 50 and 52 seen on the main and preserved lines of the South West of England and on the ex-Southern and ex-Great Western railway metals. These locomotives show that this is not just a holiday area they are filmed conveying all kinds of produce, from China Clay to steel as well as stopping passenger to express passenger trains on the national network. We also show it the way it was on lines such as the West Somerset and Torbay Railways. The area covered encompasses Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire. This fabulous programme, part of a wonderful eight-volume series, celebrates the might of diesel, an often overlooked part of British rail heritage. Incredible action footage makes every title in this series a real treat.
