Gold and Silver Gala with Placido Domingo (1996)

To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the first performance by the Covent Garden Opera company, a host of stars come together to perform works by Verdi, Gounod, Massenet and Charpentier. Asher Fisch conducts the Royal Opera orchestra, while the performers include Placido Domingo, celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of his own first performance at Covent Garden.
