American comedy drama written and directed by Dolly Wells. Having recently graduated, as well as split up from her boyfriend, Lilian (Grace Van Patten) finds herself struggling to find direction in her life. Lilian's wealthy father (Norbert Leo Butz), who lives in Europe, arranges for her to stay in an apartment in Brooklyn with reclusive writer Julia Price (Emily Mortimer). The pair communicate through diary entries and a fraught relationship becomes more affable as they exchange witty ripostes and Lilian comes to take control of her own life.
