Synopsis:
Gian Carlo Menotti's opera on the life of the Spanish painter, originally suggested by Placido Domingo, performed live at Vienna's Theater an Der Wien in 2004. Domingo himself takes the lead role, alongside performances by Michelle Breedt, Iride Martinez and Christian Gerhaher. Emmanuel Villaume conducts the Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien.
