Sex, class and race collide at an exclusive French private school in this powerful and moving adaptation of Jean-Marie Besset's stage-play it takes us into the world of the "Grande Ecole", where students, particularly those from privileged backgrounds, are groomed to become the country's future leaders. Paul is embarking on his first term at the school and he's finding it hard to fit in with his bourgeois classmates. To complicate matters he is also having difficulty suppressing his sexual attraction to his handsome roommate, Louis-Arnault. Understandably, his long-term girlfriend Agnes becomes jealous but proposes a bet: whoever beds Louis-Arnault first wins. If she emerges victorious, Paul will cease all contact with Louis-Arnault, but if Paul succeeds she will walk away. Meanwhile, Paul has also met Mecir, a young Arabic handyman, who teaches the naive student the intimate pleasures of the male body.
