A witty, warm and wise fable, based on the acclaimed novella by distinguished author Truman Capote, is brought to magical life by an all-star Hollywood cast. Sent to stay with his two maiden aunts after his mother dies, Collin Fenwick (Edward Furlong) embarks on a delightful voyage exploring the joys of living and loving. Drawn more towards the sweetly romantic Dolly (Piper Laurie) than her stern materialistic sister Verena (Sissy Spacek), Collin learns the true value of honesty and tenderness through the simplest of life's pleasures. When Dolly causes a small-town rebellion by falling in love with the dashing Judge Cool (Walter Matthau), and decides to live in a tree-house after further household conflict, Collin is the first to take the leap of life-changing faith with her.
