The inspirational Timothy West and Prunella Scales continue their waterway explorations, embarking on spectacular canal journeys across Britain and abroad. The couple begin their fourth series' adventures in Venice, following the route once taken by Casanova and Byron, escaping the crowds of St Mark's to experience tranquillity and beauty. Whilst in the Netherlands, they explore the windmills of the Kinderdijk and visit the vibrant city of Amsterdam. Back in the UK, Tim and Pru relive moments from their pasts courtesy of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Whilst Tim is in Bristol performing in King Lear, they tour the city and some of the West Country waterways and set sail on the Bristol Channel to the Devonshire town that Pru stayed in during the war. The intrepid duo complete the series by crossing the Scottish Highlands on a sun-kissed voyage along the spectacular Caledonian Canal; a waterway that links the North Sea with the Atlantic. Finally, Tim and Pru island-hop their way through the Hebrides, visiting Tobermory, Iona, the Isle of Jura, and lastly the magical nine-mile Crinan canal.
