Gretry: Peter the Great (2002)

St. Petersburg played host to a momentous event in the history of classical music when it commissioned a staging of 'Peter the Great' to celebrate the city's 300th anniversary. Among the cast members were Maxim Mironov, Nikolai Dorozhkin, and Elena Voznesenskaya, all of whom gave excellent performances of this great work. The entire event has been captured here for posterity, and is sure to delight fans of an opera that has firmly cemented itself in the history of the genre.
