Rent Gunslinger Girl (2003 - 2004)

Gunslinger Girl is a Japanese animated series about a group of young women who are tasked with defending Italy against many terrorist elements thanks to some new technology. The series follows Section 2, a counter terrorist group that employs young women who are implanted with cybernetic technology to improve their strength and agility to fight the terrorists intent on causing havoc. They are partnered with a male handler who must ensure that their charges are alright and are not affected by the dangerous elements they must contend with on a daily basis.
