Rent Gurren Lagann (2007 - 2008)

Gurren Lagann is a Japanese animated drama series about a world controlled by a violent dictator and the rebels who take him on using robotic machines hoping for a new life. The series follows Simon, a tunneler, a member of a village of underground dwellings that is subjugated by Lord Genome, a man who controls them through the use of his robotic army. When Simon finds his own robot he uses it to inspire a revolution to take back the Earth’s surface from Genome and his army but its a battle that won’t be without sacrifice and loss.
