- Synopsis:
- Shakespeare's timeless characters - Hamlet, Claudius, Horatio and Ophelia - come to life in this classic drama. Nicol Williamson stars as Hamlet, the young prince of Denmark whose father is murdered by his uncle Claudius (Anthony Hopkins), Hamlet is torn between the desire to avenge his father's death and his reluctance to shed blood. In the end, tragedy destroys them all - including the lovely Ophelia (Marianne Faithfull), with whom Hamlet had once been romantically involved.
