- He wants power and riches and doesn't care how he gets them. He would kill his own grandmother for the price of a phone call, if he ever escapes from that asylum...watch out. Helped to freedom by the floozy waitress Jimmie Jean (Elizabeth Taylor), Hammersmith (Richard Burton) gleefully sets off on an orgy of mindless crime and violence that sees him bludgeon his way into the world of big business, presidential campaigns and international diplomacy.
