Harold Shipman was argueably Britain's most notorioos serial killer responsible for the death of over 215 of his patients. A middle class family practitioner based in Hyde, Manchester, Shipman was convicted of the murder of 15 patients in January 2000, but to this day it is still unclear as to what motivated his terrible crimes. This film tells the dramatic story of Shipman, the trusted GP, who starts his sequence of murders by administering the drug diamorphine to his unsuspecting patients. However a local undertaker begins to notice the unusually high death rate amongst Shipman's patients. An investigation follows but Shipman evades the authorities and his patients continue to pay the price. Shipman is now on an uncontrollable killing spree and he becomes ever more daring. Suspicions re-emerge after the daughter of one his victims becomes suspicious when a will is discovered and Shipman is the only beneficiary. In an effort to cover his frail, Shipman manipulates his computer records but investigators discover his deeds and finally bring him justice.
