- Synopsis:
- Ally Sheedy stars as Maggie, a senior at Alabama's Randolph University who questions the very fabric of Southern life after coming face to face with segregation and bigotry. Though her best friend (Virginia Madsen) tries to keep her on the path of a true Southern belle, a fellow student (Phoebe Cates) and a news photographer (Treat Williams) show her that she can no longer ignore the Civil Rights movement that is beginning to unfurl violently around her.
