Set in the spirit of "Forest Gump", 'Heaven Before I Die' tells a humourous yet sad story of Jacob (Andy Velasquez), a disabled man, a Chaplinesque character who is unable to find work and support himself. Filled with despair, he sets off to Canada in search of what he perceives to be the new "promised land" - Toronto! It is there that fate leads him to a couple of petty thieves, who take him in and show him their philosophy on life. It is through these men that he meets the beautiful waitress Selma (Joanna Pacula) - who soon helps him to discover himself, teaching him to use his disability to his advantage. With her guidance, Jacob learns the entertaining world of Charlie Chaplin and through a street act he achieves fame and fortune, yet loses his soul. In a spectacular finale Jacob comes to terms with himself and realises that with all of life's imperfections - there is 'Heaven Before I Die'.
