Heavy Metal in Baghdad is the critically acclaimed feature film documentary that follows the Iraqi rock band Acrassicauda from the fall of the Iraqi Government in 2003 to the present day. Playing heavy metal in a Muslim country has always been a difficult, if not impossible, proposition. However, after the chaos which followed the removal of Saddam Hussain's regime it seemed that real freedom was perhaps now possible, and the band was presented with an unlikely opportunity to express itself. A hope that was quickly erased as their country fell into a bloody insurgency From 2003-2006, as Iraq disintegrated around them, the members of Acrassicauda struggled not only to remain together but even to stay alive, while refusing to let their rock dreams die. Their struggle to be heard is the untold story of the hopes and dreams of an entire generation of young Iraqis.
