Documentary telling the story of the people who were on the frontline at the worlds worst nuclear accident, Chernobyl. Based on Mario Petrucci's poem for Chernobyl 'Heavy Water', the film uses archive and recent footage to build a portrait of the extraordinary courage and bravery of the safety workers on duty on April 26th 1986. Unaware of the crisis unfolding around them, local people continue with their normal routines. In three days, radioactivity has contaminated an area the size of England, and the full extent of the disaster begins to dawn.
