A.B. Zax directs this documentary following independent bookshop owner Matthew Tannenbaum through good times and hard times. Already filming at The Bookstore in Lenox, Massachusetts when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, leading to lockdowns and a huge downturn in business, Zax covers Tannenbaum's struggles and decision to try and raise money through GoFundMe to save his bookshop. Community support doubled Tannenbaum's target amount in only two days and suddenly The Bookstore was no longer in debt or at risk of closure. Zax focuses not only on the effect of the pandemic on the business but also explores The Bookstore's place in the community as well as Tannenbaum's deep love of books and stories and his desire to share them with patrons.
