Heston Blumenthal made his name with original, some say downright bizarre dishes served at his famous restaurant The Fat Duck: snail porridge, egg and bacon ice-cream and seafood served with an iPod so diners can listen to sounds of the sea as they eat. But are his techniques palatable with their profit margins? The kitchens of an NHS hospital, the Cineworld chain, British Airways and the Royal Navy all come in for the Blumenthal treatment as Heston conducts weird experiments in his quest to find solutions where other chefs have failed. But Heston's greatest challenge comes when he faces the public, and discovers that customers can be the fiercest critics...
