Ron Howard directs this US drama based on the memoir by J. D. Vance (Gabriel Basso). The film follows Yale law student Vance as he returns to his hometown of Middletown, Ohio. Reuniting with his drug-addicted mother Bev (Amy Adams), Vance reflects on his difficult upbringing and the values instilled in him by his grandmother (Glenn Close).
