The brilliant John Wayne plays Dick Wallace the son of a businessman, in this romantic comedy about a man who thinks life is for living and a girlfriend who believes it's time he settled down with a respectable job. The respectability of a job isn't that difficult for Dick, as his father (Reginald Barlow) has always wanted him to work in the family business although the settling down part could be a problem. Dick's father relishes the thought of his son working for him but on the other hand doesn't want him to settle down... particularly with a minister's granddaughter! This puts Marion (Evalyn Knapp) into a position where she, unexpectedly has to prove herself and sets about the task by taking a job at the same company...but Mr. Wallace senior has not idea what is happening! It's great to see the 'Duke' in what is an unusual role for the all action hero, but the overall effect is surprising.
