Animation is an integral part of Advertising. This classic video contains few of the very rare Animation Films, during the 1950's, which are the 60-second spots that were not born on television, or even radio. Movie theaters ran "Minute Movies", such as Extra, as another way to increase profits. Mass selling was enormously popular in the fifties, when millions of people went to the movies each week, and the sound of network radio, a relative youngster among media, was heard in millions of homes. Included here among others you will find a corporate-sponsored cartoon where Martian dissidents learn that oil and competition are the two things that make America great and a "I Like Ike" animated television commercial, produced by Roy Disney and Citizens for Eisenhower-Nixon. The vintage collection of Black and White as well as Color Advertising films are classic animation cartoons by legendary producers like Sutherland (John) Productions, Handy (Jam) Organization. You will find these films advertising Eisenhower, General Electric and NYSE among others.
