Before people could become comfortable with the power of the atom the US Government figured they would have to sell them the idea that it could be used for peaceful purposes. 'The History of Nuclear Power: Power and the People' set is an overview of the propaganda films that the government created to sell nukes to the public. You will see clips dealing with the construction of a nuclear power plant in a small town, and learn the peaceful possibilities of atomic energy. One film depicts an arresting atomic bomb test in a desert. Another film details peaceful applications of nuclear power in construction, civil engineering and the extraction of natural resources.
