The message in this fascinating set of videos is crystal clear - soldiers alone cannot win the war. Through highly imaginative illustrations and heart-rending shots of young soldiers laying down their lives for the country, the war department seeks to motivate all U.S. Citizens to rise to the occasion and serve the country in its hour of crisis. The black and white footage and lively narrations add to the solemnity of the messages. I am quite confident that each patriotic American - young and old, skilled and unskilled, able bodied and disabled - responded to this call. After all we did win the war didn’t we?
