Disc 1:
Story Of Adolf Hitler
An adolescent drifter and World War I corporal, Adolf Hitler rejected his aimless Viennese past to become, In Weimar Germany a demagogue of the extreme right. Hitler led the National Socialist German Workers Party which, with a mixture of good fortune, abundant political acumen and personal charisma, was the second largest in the Reichstag by 1930.
This documentary tells Hitler's story, from his humble beginnings, through the dramas of World War II, and finally, to his suicide in a Berlin bunker in 1945.
Disc 2:
Adolf And Eva
When Adolf Hitler rose to power, he was the most admired man in Germany. He could have had the pick of any number of brilliant women and yet he chose a simple girl from Munich to be his mistress. Eva Braun was only seventeen when she first met Hitler and her relationship with him remained a secret until after their death together.
Adolf & Eva uses Eva Braun's own home movie footage and interviews with the people who knew them as a couple to explain the attraction they had for one another and to reveal for the first time the full extent of their intimacy.
Disc 3:
Hitler's Fixer
This documentary is about Hitler's deputy, Martin Bormann, one of the most powerful men in the third Reich. He controlled access to Hitler and managed his political and private affairs. This film concentrates on the intense personal relationship between Hitler and Bormann, showing how Bormann engineered a position for himself which was unparalleled within Hitler's inner circle. By the very end of the war, Hitler named Bormann 'my most faithful party comrade' and appointed him the next leader of the Nazi party. The film also lays to rest the enduring rumour about Bormann's mysterious end. It examines Bormann's escape to South America and the allegation that he might have been a soviet spy.
