Incredibly hard to read subtitles! - House of Five Leaves review by Dee

Spoiler Alert
27/11/2018

I watched the first 10 min of the first episode of this, then had to give up because the subtitles were too hard to read.

The animation, art style and voice acting all seemed really high quality but the white subtitles with yellow drop shadow (frequently on a white or pastel background) were either very hard to actually see, or barely visible enough that reading for any length of time was uncomfortable - like eye strain uncomfortable.

Of course, some people prefer to watch their animé dubbed, but I don't (personal preference) and near impossible to read subtitles meant I had to send back the DVD mostly unwatched.
