Synopsis:
Devised by 'Dixon of Dock Green' creator Ted Willis, 'Hunters Walk' shared several similarities with the classic 1950's police drama - in particular a small-town setting, and storylines encompassing the more human aspects of police work. Based at a police station in a fictional Midlands town, 'Hunters Walk' offered a contrasting alternative to the 1970's more hard-hitting, action-led urban crime dramas. Its small, idiosyncratic team of officers face a typically broad spectrum of cases, from neighbours' disputes and hooliganism to suspected murder.
Offering an authentic portrayal of provincial police work - a premise later regaining in popularity with series like Juliet Bravo - 'Hunters Walk' features excellent scripts by Roger Marshall and Peter J. Hammond among other noted writers.
