Kasper Collin writes and directs this documentary which profiles the life of jazz trumpeter Lee Morgan. Born in Philadelphia, Lee played with a number of renowned jazz musicians before going on to establish himself as one of the most respected jazz trumpeters in the country. After struggling with a debilitating drug addiction, Lee was able kick-start his stalling career with the help of his common-law wife Helen, but problems in their relationship ultimately became too much for Helen, who tragically shot and killed Lee while he performed in New York in 1972. The film features archive footage and interviews with both Lee and Helen alongside contributions from fellow musicians such as Wayne Shorter and Jymie Merritt.
